Privacy
Flipnote is a small flip book for notes, with Amili inside. This page says what is stored, what leaves your device, and the one choice you make.
Your notes
- Your pages are kept in this browser, on this device. Flipnote does not copy them to a server, except a page you ask Amili about (next point).
- When you tap Ask Amili on a page, the text of that page is sent to the Flipnote server and to Amili, an AI assistant, which writes the answer that appears on the page. The server keeps that page's text with its answer so the answer can come back to you. Only the pages you ask about are sent.
- Flipnote has no ads and does not sell or share your notes.
Analytics, only if you say yes
Flipnote can use Google Analytics to count visits and see how the app is used. It loads only after you tap Accept on the bar at the bottom. If you tap Decline, nothing is loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
- What is counted: that the app was opened, your rough region, device type and browser. Never the text of your notes: Flipnote does not put note text in the page address or the title.
- Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off.
- Your choice is kept in this browser for 180 days, then we ask again.
Choosing Decline later switches analytics off and removes its cookies from this browser.
Sign-in
Asking Amili needs a sign-in with Google. Flipnote then keeps a session cookie so you stay signed in. It is needed for the app to work and is not used for tracking.
